9 October 2024 marked the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The UPU’s theme for its 150 years, “150 years of enabling communication and empowering peoples across nations,” recognises this accomplishment and reinforces its commitment to serve all peoples for the decades and centuries to come. 

The stamp sheetlet issued by Hong Kong Post on this event features a carrier pigeon, composed of various triangular shapes, delivering mail around the world. This represents the UPU’s efforts to strengthen the connections, communication and cooperation among postal administrations worldwide. The stamp sheetlet also displays the theme logo for the 150th anniversary of the UPU 2024.
